Description of Coat
Elizamae is a beautiful medium purple blue with dark bisque points
on her legs, under the base of her tail, on her chest, muzzle, and eyebrow
pips. She is of the shortcoated version of the Schwerenhund, the most
common. It is a smooth and coarse coat that is oily as a water repellant.

Temperament
Elizamae is a soft tempered female everywhere we go. She is calm in
stressful situations and especially near children and the elderly. In the field,
she has endless energy but knows how to control it without getting out of
hand. She easily channels her energy into her task at hand and doesn't
come back jumping up and down and nipping everywhere. She is obedient
and loves marker training because of her food drive.

She points beautifully and doesn't miss one movement in the field or bush.
Because she is a shortcoated Schwerenhund, her preferred working
environment is short to tall grass and shallow waters, or lakes and ponds
in the summer. I don't take her into deeper waters throughout winter,
early spring, or late fall, as they get too chilly. This is why the wired coat
and the long coat was introduced into the breed in the first place.

Conformation
Elizamae is a typical Schwerenhund. She differs from the standard very
slightly in her abdominal tuck, rear leg, topline, and muzzle, but she is
still correct and in fact an exceptional female. She has the traditional
Tanto point tail which is the breed-specific trait that differentiates the
Schwerenhund from other heavy hounds. This tail is like a whip and
you really don't want to be in the line of fire when a Schwerenhund is
waiting for her dinner, that's for sure!
