F. The Wind of Daybreak OA

CALL NAME:  Nafas
PHENOTYPE: Pure shorthair panda piebald with black base and black point markings and yellow eyes.
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 29"/97 lbs
BREEDER: Foundation bloodstock.
BREED: Quenouille, made by TrueGameKennel
AGE IN PHOTO: 24 months
TITLES: Open Agility (TKC)

TEMPERAMENT: Nafas is my first and only QQ and has proven to me his unique, primitive temperament. I can almost say he reminds me of my working Beauceron, Gvozdika. He's sharp and is prone to snap if he doesn't want someone to touch him, for example. He doesn't like high-energy people or unstable people. He doesn't like changes in his home environment that he is unsure of. When that happens, he gets immobile and is impossible to move anywhere, not even urging with treats or a toy. That's why his kennel space is never moved around. I don't even change so much as a fake flower pot in his kennel space. He gets a 30x40' space with sand, grass, and pea gravel, a kiddie pool in the summer, an indoor dog house, and double fences with a secure roof and the kennel is secured to the ground by planks and nails. Most of the dogs who are purely kennel dogs get this housing as well, but often I will change up the flower pot or move a tarp or move other things around to clean, but I don't with Nafas. He is extremely sensitive to changes. Out in public, he is muzzled because of his disposition towards strangers. He was not raised in a North American home; therefore, we can't expect him to be anything but how he inherently is. I am sure if he were super socialized, he would be just fine in public. He has never shown viciousness or unnecessary aggression. The main problem is some people who don't know how to come up to or greet a dog, and that gets on Nafas' nerves quickly. We rarely go out in public places with him, except at night with the pack or when I can focus all of my attention strictly on him without another dog in hand.

He isn't allowed to play with other dogs. He does, however, come on pack walks with us, as the energy is quite a bit different on these than "playing" with a bunch of dogs at once in one area. He prefers staying near the calmer dogs on the walks. He doesn't mind the horses but is a little confused by them. He is not allowed around the small dog or cats. He is a courser and chases squirrels and often catches and kills them. He is superbly drivey and could easily be added to a boar hunting team and be quite the asset in that regard. His prey drive goes so far as to actually kill and eat what he catches. With this temperament comes great responsibility.

CONFORMATION: He is a moderate-sized male at 29", the largest QQ male being 5" taller. He has the correct large paws, long legs, strong front and hindquarters, thick and long neck, deep ribcage. His mohawk is short and could be longer. He has the correct eye shape and a beautiful, cat-like tail. He has the breed-specific candle-like ears with light pink skin pigment inside.
DISCIPLINES: Obedience, Coursing, and Ring
NUTRITION: Natural Instinct and Spring Meadows Raw Food
AVAILABILITY: Not available for stud services or lease.
