H I S T O R Y

Rocket's life was a very long time in the making. I expressed my deep interest in getting Prime's Lockjaw to cover Bethzatha. I wanted all of Bethzatha's breedings to be extremely elite as to produce a completely new line of blood that would be hard to come by. This contact to Konigshaus was one of the first of the reasons why we have become so close and can now say we are affiliates. The breeding was accepted. Beth still had some growing to do and her health tests hadn't come back yet, so, the breeding was simply a goal, or, perhaps, a dream, depending on her health test clearances and the way she developed. Beth achieved a Bear Hunter title which proved her extreme drive, which, was one of the things I wanted to temper slightly in her offspring; hence, the Lockjaw mating.

Bethzatha is a foundation-bred, game-bred solid chocolate-colored bitch, and Loki was also a chocolate but with almost full irish spotting. Both have the greenish-tan eye color and correct chocolate pigment to go along with their coats. Though both are APBT, Loki was of the UKC style. Beth and he complemented one another in body styles and temperament.

T E M P E R A M E N T

Let's just say Rocket lives up to her name. All she wants to do is zip around the house and yard. Her calm state is nonexistent. She has to be shut in a crate in order for her to settle down and go to sleep. As she was growing up, it was paramount for us to have timed exercises for her, as she could have "gone all day" but to save her joints and keep her at a good weight, we really had to control this aspect of her life. She has a high metabolism and doesn't eat much; therefore, what she does eat needs to be highly nutritional and qualitative. She definitely "watches her waistline." I can't imagine Rocket ever getting fat! Because of her intensity, she is not so great playing with other dogs who she actually gets along with, without it being an extremely controlled situation. The type of dog she gets along with are nondominant, large, stable, and tough, such as my Presas - they get along well and could run around together all day. She does have a tendency to play rough, so all play times are supervised with her in the mix.

As a working dog, Rocket is rough, aloof, and actively and passionately seeks the end result. She desires to please her handler and is smart and a good problem solver. She is fiery and hotheaded. She will be a Bear Hunter like her dam and go farther than her dam in other sports, as she is not as aggressively prey driven as Beth and I doubt would kill the game (not allowed in competition) as her dam would. She will go far enough to catch the game but is not likely to kill it. This desire was well tempered by Loki and that is exactly what I had hoped for.

C O N F O R M A T I O N

xx. Scissor bite, best for gripping. She stands 18" at the withers and weighs 45 lbs. She is as large as her brother but shorter in height.

xx. Handsome but bitchy in body. Good bone size and musculature for a female.

xx. Wide stance with moderately good fill.

xx. Ears have been cropped as she will be used in aggressive game sports. Not for show.

xx. Minimal irish spotting on head, tail, all four feet, and chest/sternum.

xx. Very Terrier.

xx. High abdominal tuck and athletic body but with larger bone than a GB APBT.

xx. Straight topline and slightly more showy body than her dam, and more sporty than her sire.
